No. The mortise-and-tenon slide-fit design assembles without nails, screws, or tools.

Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, basil, and cucumbers are easy starter crops that thrive in raised beds.

How deep should a raised bed be?

5 inches works great for shallow rooted vegetables which include leafy greens like lettuce, spinach, and arugula, along with radishes, onions, and broccoli. Other examples include peas and bush beans, which can be grown successfully in containers or beds with limited soil depth; 10 or more inches is ideal for deep-rooted plants like tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and carrots.

Indiana Berry supplies commercial fruit growers and nurseries across the country and is known for high-quality, disease-free plants and excellent performing varieties. We selected these varieties because they are proven performers for our climate and produce excellent fruit for home gardeners.
